About me: I graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 1980. I then went straight into full-time practice and established my own clinic in Welbeck Street, London W1. I have given hands-on treatment to thousands of people over my thirty years in full-time practice. In 2000 I decided to leave the Osteopathic Profession and became an Osteomyologist. The first case of RSI I ever treated was when I was a student, the lady concerned was a pianist with finger problems. The success of my simple approach has never left my thoughts through these years. The RSI Survey on my website was formulated only by virtue of my experience and observations over the past 30 years. I intend to enable practitioners of all sorts to be able to help this 'epidemic' problem.
Teaching history:
- Movement Anatomy and Physiology for Dance Teachers
- Physical examination for post-graduate Homeopaths
- Intracranial Hydrodynamics in New York
- Workshops on technique in Philadelphia and Connecticut.
- Lecturer on applied anatomy for voice teachers at the Royal Academy of Music.

This weekend workshop will teach you almost all that you may need to know about shoulder, forearm, wrist and finger problems and
the numerous techniques which will help them. You will learn the anatomy, dynamic movements and neurology of the common syndromes or patterns. How to tell the difference between Carpal Tunnel and other syndromes with potential neurological signs and symptoms.
Reflex testing of the upper limb.
The workshops will cover the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of RSI conditions of the upper limb.
The workshops are limited to twenty participants. There will be a 45 minute break for lunch which you must provide for yourself.
The workshops are open to anyone in the world of hands-on physical therapy, e.g. Massage, Bodywork, Tui Na, Shiatsu, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Osteomyologists, Acupuncturists and Physiotherapists.

'Touch-Test-Treat': the key to RSI diagnosis and treatment.
Day 1 morning.
Palpation:
A highly developed sense of palpation is absolutely necessary if you are to really 'see' what is going on beneath your fingertips. So, the first morning will cover the four main aspects of this supremely powerful skill.
1. Quietening the senses.
2. Skin sensations:
- Pulsations
- Heat
- Texture
- Volatility
- Density
3. Muscles:
- Heat
- Volatility
- Density
- Elasticity
- Reflex thresholds
4. Sensing resistance to movement and symmetries of resistance and density.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 1 afternoon:
5. Pathogenesis: how does RSI occur?
6. Forearm mechanics:
How to 'see' and understand why, in a mechanical sense, forearm and hand RSI problems occur and persist.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2 :
1. Diagnosis:
How to recognise the most common RSI patterns.
2. Forearm muscles:
Common RSI and overuse patterns and their syndromes.
Evaluation and techniques for general softening and specific, myo-articulatory techniques for flexors and extensor groups.
3. Wrist and finger joints:
Carpal zone evaluation, treatment and dynamic anatomy.
Evaluation and treatment of the Thenar eminence.
Evaluation and mobilisation of the finger joints.
4. Acromio-clavicular joint:
How to evaluate symmetry of movement range and excessive resistance.
5. Shoulder joint:
Long lever articulation using the arm as lever with combined focus (Myo-articulation) through all planes of movement.
6. Upper ribcage and lower neck:
How to determine upper ribcage movement symmetry. Mobilisation and stretching techniques.
7. Ergonomics:
At home and in the office.
